Framing is almost complete on our massive Stouffville addition - and the scale of this transformation is really starting to show. What started as an existing home is being completely reimagined with thousands of square feet of new living space, creating an entirely new layout and experience for the homeowners. Framing an addition can be just as complex - if not more complex - than framing a new build.  With a new home, you’re starting from a clean slate. With an addition, every new wall, floor, beam, and roofline has to integrate properly with an existing structure. That means careful planning, precise measurements, structural coordination, and solving challenges as the old and new come together. It’s complicated work. Our job is to make it look easy.

A legal basement isn’t just about making the space look finished — it needs to be done properly from the start. We were called into this project after another contractor began the renovation without following the proper requirements for a legal basement apartment. Now, our team is reviewing the existing work, determining what can stay, correcting what can’t, and moving the project forward according to the approved drawings and required inspections.

Before hiring a contractor for your legal basement, make sure you have the right drawings and permits in place, understand who is coordinating inspections, verify insurance, and get the full scope in writing.

Do it properly the first time.
