Steeltown just got its shine back!
After 18 months, TD Coliseum’s $300M transformation puts Hamilton center stage with a completely reimagined entertainment experience.

Highlights include:
- Unlocking a previously unused concourse level for better flow
- Advanced retractable seating for flexible event layouts
- Backstage upgrades, including new artist lounges designed for world-class shows (Sir Paul McCartney just kicked things off!)

This project demanded agility and teamwork at every turn – from uncovering hidden conditions during demolition to meticulous scheduling with trades to keep momentum strong and deliver on time.

And yes - bring your appetite. The food and beverage options are next-level.

Monique Valente knows the importance of PPE on site. Staying alert, watching for hazards, and relying on the right gear keeps her protected, and helps ensure everyone goes home safe.

Starting January 1, 2026, all subcontractors and visitors on EllisDon sites will be required to wear Type 2 hard hats with integrated chin straps. Our goal: the highest level of protection for everyone on site.

On , EllisDon is proud to celebrate our continued partnership with Project Forest.

In 2025, we pledged 2,000 trees, one for every new team member, supporting the Siksika Nation Community Shelterbelt. Our team joined Project Forest on-site to help plant trees that will provide food, medicine, and shelter for generations to come.

The shelterbelt supports homes with limited tree cover, offering shade, wind protection, and helping prevent snow from blocking roads.

Our commitment continues: every new team member means more trees, more protection, and stronger communities. Interested in being a part of our team?

On this Remembrance Day, we stand together as a company and as Canadians to pay our heartfelt tribute to the heroes who have selflessly served and continue to serve our great nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication have shaped the Canada we know and love today.

As we wear the symbolic red poppy, we reflect on the immense sacrifices made on the battlefields and in the line of duty. We remember not only the soldiers but also their families.

The modernization of Hunting Hills High School, in Red Deer, Alberta, went far beyond construction. While delivering a complex project in a live learning environment, our team became a trusted part of the school community.

Through close collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a commitment to safety, we helped transform the space, while keeping learning uninterrupted and safe.

What if your formwork system could reduce labour, accelerate schedules, and improve long-term structural performance - all at once?

At EllisDon, we’ve reimagined IntElliDeck: a hydraulic slab table system originally developed in 2008, now redesigned by our in-house engineering team to meet modern Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and evolving project demands.

So what are the benefits?
âś… Telescopic flexibility for varied heights
âś… Minimal reshoring = faster trades access
âś… 62% fewer support legs compared to ED F360 tables (69% less)
âś… Load transferred to column bases, not slabs, for better long-term performance

“This system goes beyond construction needs. It provides a better product for our clients by fundamentally solving an issue with concrete [construction],” said Chris Horton, Director, Pre-Construction, EllisDon.

While IntElliDeck isn’t suited to every project, it’s ideal for design-build hospitals with specific grid requirements. Projects like the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement and the new Surrey hospital and BC Cancer Centre have adopted this innovation.

Confederation GO Station is now open!

Located in Hamilton, Ontario, this new transit hub is a step forward in regional connectivity, linking communities across Hamilton, Niagara, and Southern Ontario.

EllisDon’s Civil team self-performed key components of the build including demolition, platform concrete, grading, electrical digital signage civil works.

Built with accessibility and safety in mind, the station features an AODA-compliant platform, advanced lighting and CCTV systems, and a pedestrian tunnel off Centennial Parkway for safe exit access.
