Most emergency clinics take the animal through a door and ask the owner to wait. This one was built to keep them together.
Etobicoke runs on an open-concept model, so the build had to support it. Treatment tables on an open floor rather than behind closed doors, seating in the middle of the room, and sightlines that let staff work at speed with people standing right there.
That is a harder plan than it looks. Everything a team needs within reach, clear circulation around every table, and a space that still feels calm for someone having the worst night of their year.
What that adds up to is a place where nobody has to sit in a corridor wondering what is happening.
