Carpenter – Residential Construction & Renovations

Sage Ventures Ltd. is an established residential construction company serving the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. We specialize in residential renovations, additions, custom homes, framing, foundations, decks, garages, and other residential construction projects.
We are looking for an experienced, dependable Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently as well as part of a crew and will take pride in completing high-quality work efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities
As a Carpenter with Sage Ventures Ltd., your duties may include:
Residential framing, including walls, floors, roofs, additions, and structural alterations
Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing building materials
Installing doors, windows, exterior and interior trim, blocking, backing, and finishing components
Demolition and preparation work for renovations and additions
Building decks, stairs, railings, fences, garages, and other residential structures
Completing structural repairs and modifications to existing homes
Assisting with foundations, concrete forming, and related construction work when required
Installing sheathing, subflooring, siding components, and other building materials
Performing general carpentry and construction tasks throughout various stages of a project
Identifying construction issues and communicating concerns to the site supervisor
Coordinating effectively with other trades and members of the construction team
Maintaining an organized, clean, and safe worksite
Properly using and maintaining hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
Following company safety procedures and WorkSafeBC requirements
Completing work to a high standard while maintaining productivity and attention to detail
Representing Sage Ventures Ltd. professionally when working in clients' homes and on occupied properties
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
Previous residential carpentry and construction experience
Strong knowledge of residential framing and general carpentry practices
Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform construction-related calculations
Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings
Experience using common carpentry hand tools and power tools
Knowledge of safe construction practices
Strong attention to detail and workmanship
Good problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently without constant supervision
Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
Good communication skills
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and working on ladders or scaffolding
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
The following would be considered assets:
Red Seal Carpenter certification
Registered Apprentice Carpenter status
Several years of residential renovation or custom home construction experience
Experience working on additions and structural renovations
Experience with both rough and finish carpentry
Experience working in occupied residential homes
Fall Protection certification
First Aid certification
Driver's Licence & Transportation
Applicants should have:
A valid BC driver's licence
Reliable transportation to and from job sites
Our projects are located throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, so applicants must be comfortable travelling to different job sites as required.

Compensation
Competitive hourly wage based on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
Compensation will be discussed with qualified applicants and will reflect the candidate's carpentry experience and ability to work independently.
Schedule
Full-time
Primarily Monday to Friday
Day shifts
Occasional additional hours may be required depending on project schedules
