Have you ever seen a nest like this before? 🐝 It may look like an ordinary bee or wasp nest, but it’s actually a bald-faced hornet nest!

A few interesting facts about bald-faced hornets:

🤍 They get their name from the distinctive white markings on their faces.
🌿 Their large, enclosed nests are made from weathered wood and plant fibres.
📄 They chew the material and mix it with saliva to create a paper-like substance.
⚠️ They can become very defensive when they feel their nest is threatened, so it’s best to keep your distance and avoid disturbing it.

If you find a hornet nest on your property, don’t get too close or try to remove it yourself. Let us handle it safely so you don’t have to!

Spotting a large wasp nest under the eaves can make any summer day stressful.

At this home in Burnaby, we performed a spray followed by a careful removal to deal with a visible wasp nest. Our inspection made sure we addressed the problem directly, and we always let customers know that small leftover pieces may blow away or wash off naturally in time.

Staying safe around wasps starts with staying alert. Keep an eye out for new nests, and consider preventative options if wasps keep returning.

Wasps shouldn’t be part of your backyard setup. 🐝

This ‘they’re just buzzing around the yard’ turned into a full nest hidden in the fence that needed careful removal. If you notice wasps flying to the same spot over and over, like around your BBQ, deck, or play area, there’s likely a nest being built.

Don’t wait for it to get bigger (and stingier). Call Bugman and we’ll take care of it safely.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating all the dads who protect their homes and families - and the father-son story behind Bugman Pest Control.

Bugman was started 20 years ago by Nigel, who built the company on old-school values: hard work, honesty, and treating customers like family. Years later, he passed the business down to his son Bryce, who proudly continues that legacy serving homes across the Fraser Valley - from Abbotsford and Chilliwack to Mission, Langley, and beyond.

To celebrate Father’s Day and 20 years in business, we’re hosting a special giveaway to get Dad grill-ready and bug-free.

🐝 Think you’ve seen a lot of yellow jackets? Think again.

This massive yellow jacket nest was discovered during a recent inspection, hidden within the structure of a home. Nests can grow surprisingly large before homeowners realize there’s a problem.

Signs of a hidden yellow jacket nest:
⚠️ Increased yellow jacket activity around your property
⚠️ Insects entering the same hole or gap repeatedly
⚠️ Buzzing sounds coming from walls, ceilings, or roof spaces

Yellow jackets can become aggressive when their nest is disturbed, making professional removal the safest option.

If you’re noticing more yellow jackets around your home, don’t wait until the problem gets bigger.
