Another day, another project completed!
A repeat customer reached out needing some help with a trench running from a newly drilled well to their home. After the heavy rain we received overnight, parts of the approximately 5-foot-deep trench had begun to cave in, creating concerns about erosion and several large boulders potentially shifting into the excavation.
With another contractor scheduled first thing in the morning to complete the well hookup, timing was critical. I was able to fit in a rush visit and get everything cleaned up, stabilized, and re-excavated to a depth that should allow the project to move forward, even if more rain arrives before work resumes.
The thumb on the excavator definitely earned its keep today, helping move some sizeable boulders safely and efficiently.
One thing I pride myself on at REID’S Excavation is responding quickly when people need help. Whether it’s a planned project or an unexpected situation, I understand that delays can cost time, money, and peace of mind. If I can help keep a project moving forward, I’ll do my best to make it happen.

Another great day working in Orillia, helping out a fellow local contractor.
This project involved carefully dismantling and rebuilding an armour stone retaining wall that had shifted over time, along with installing additional drainage to help protect the wall and improve long-term performance.
The weather cooperated, the crew worked efficiently, and we were able to complete the project much faster than originally anticipated. It’s always rewarding to see a job come together smoothly and leave the customer with a solid finished product.

Another successful project and another satisfied homeowner—here’s a great example of how a simple change can make a big impact. 👌
Got a call last evening from a homeowner who wanted four longstanding shrubs removed from the front of their property. These shrubs had been part of the landscape for nearly 20 years, and it was time for a change.
We were happy to help out and get the job done quickly and efficiently. Sometimes it’s the smaller projects that can make a big difference in improving the appearance and usability of a property.
The job went smoothly, the cleanup was completed, and most importantly, the client was happy with the result—and so were we!

Not exactly our usual line of work, but when a local client called late last night needing a hand, we were happy to help.

This morning we tackled a couple of tree removals and stacked the wood neatly in the client's lean-to for future use. While the trees weren't huge, there were definitely a few considerations when it came to dropping them safely and efficiently.

The photos don't do the job justice, but we were able to get everything completed in just a couple of hours and leave another happy client behind.

At REIDS, we take pride in showing up, getting the job done quickly, and making sure our customers are completely satisfied—whether it's a large excavation project or a small job that simply needs to be taken care of.

Another great day working down in Tiny Beaches this morning!

We were able to move approximately 15 yards of material for a client and help bring their project one step closer to completion. It was a beautiful day to be outside, and as always, it's a pleasure meeting good people in our community.

Another great day for Reid's Excavation!

Today we completed some lot grading on a property with some very steep elevations in Penetanguishene. The homeowners have been putting a tremendous amount of work into restoring and renovating a historic landmark property, and I was happy to help with the next phase of their project.

The challenging terrain made for a good test of both my operating skills and the capabilities of the machine, but everything went smoothly and the results turned out exactly as planned.

Most importantly, the clients were extremely happy with the finished product, which is always the goal. It's a privilege to work with great people in our community and help bring their projects to life.

Another great day out helping a local farmer! Today we replaced several fence posts to allow his horses access to different grazing fields.

One of the projects we completed this past week was helping an elderly couple in Perkinsfield with a sump pump discharge line that had been pulled up and needed repair.

After assessing the situation, we were able to reuse the existing pipe and clamp, which kept the repair straightforward and saved the homeowners from unnecessary replacement costs. We also removed several old stumps from the property, helping clean up the yard and make maintenance easier moving forward.
