Dangerous snow squalls and blizzard conditions Monday into Tuesday.

What: Blizzard conditions with near zero visibility. Total local snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm. Strong wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h.

When: Monday afternoon easing to scattered flurries Tuesday afternoon.

Additional information: A colder air mass in the wake of a departing low pressure system will result in the development of lake effect snow squalls off Georgian Bay. Widespread blowing snow and blizzard conditions will be the primary concern as northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected.

Travel may be hazardous and some routes may be impassable. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Road closures are possible. Reschedule travel and outdoor activities. Prepare for the possibility of quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Prepare for possible prolonged disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.

The freezing rain is here!

We urge our clients as well as the community to avoid non essential travel and to stay in doors.

If you must venture outside, please use extreme caution as surfaces may be be icy ⚠️.

We are praying that this ice storm does not being the same level of devastation that this past springs ice storm caused. 🙏
