Such a great day learning with HRM’s Urban Forestry team. We discussed bank naturalization, tree care and tree climbing, and visited a recent installation of a food forest within view of the MacDonald Bridge! HRM’s Urban Forest takes a lot of care and planning from some amazingly dedicated people facing problems that traditional forestry does not. Thank you for a wonderful event!

New benefit for Forest Nova Scotia members 🌲

Woodlot owners play a critical role in our sector — managing forests, supporting supply chains and contributing to the economic health of communities across the province. But protecting that work hasn’t always been simple.

We’ve been hearing that from members, and it’s something we’ve been advocating for.

That’s why today, we’re launching a new insurance program for Forest Nova Scotia members in partnership with Canadian Forest Owners (CFO) — built with woodlot owners in mind to help protect your land, your work and everything you’ve built over time.

This is a positive step toward strengthening the resilience of our sector — by supporting the people who make it what it is.
