⚡ Throwback: Powering a New Modular Home Development 🏠
Throwback to a project where we helped bring power to a new development site for modular homes.
Our team built a custom power stand in our shop, complete with a panel, meter, and disconnect. Building it in a controlled environment allowed us to work efficiently and precisely before bringing everything to the site.
Once installed, the setup was designed to make it easy to run temporary power to the modular homes and office building, with the flexibility to adapt as buildings moved or the development changed over time.
A little planning behind the scenes made for a cleaner, faster, and more flexible installation on-site. ✔️⚡

Throwback to a unique project we completed for the Medicine Hat Fire Department and Cypress County Volunteer Fire Department.
This solar-powered system measures the propane gas flow during fire training exercises. The collected data can then be used to estimate the heat produced during the exercise and determine how much propane remains afterward.

A smaller project with a pretty interesting purpose - combining solar power, electrical controls, and real-time data to support safer, more informed fire training. ⚡

Throwback to a project we have been working on a few years back.
This is a cathodic rectifier station we powered up. Even the frame of the system was built by us and is designed to accommodate a cathodic protection system, a crucial technology in preventing corrosion of underground pipelines.

Cathodic protection is like a shield against rust, achieved through an electrochemical process. This technology is essential in ensuring the integrity of buried metal piping, helping to prevent leaks and maintain a reliable pipeline network.

And by the way, rectification is the first step in this process – it's the transformation of AC power (the electricity in your home) into DC power (like what a battery provides). This step is key to safeguarding our pipelines! ⚡

📡⚡ Off-Grid Cellular Communications System Installed
This is off-grid cellular communications system for a local utility. This enclosure houses the equipment needed to provide both power and wireless communication to a gas meter that supplies and monitors the natural gas line serving a Hutterite colony.
With its onboard power system and cellular connectivity, the site can be monitored remotely, allowing operators to track performance and respond quickly to any changes - even in remote locations without grid power.

Fuse Tip: Ensure safety by always using the right-sized fuse. Swapping it out for a larger one may lead to excessive currents in the wiring, posing a serious fire risk. The fuse rating is measured in “amps” and is usually found written on the side of the fuse. The ratings vary on different types of fuses and tell you how much current is needed (in amps) to break or blow the fuse.

⚡ Throwback: Emergency Greenhouse Electrical Repair 🔧
Throwback to an emergency repair where we found aging wires packed into an undersized conduit. Years of overheating had severely deteriorated the insulation until a short eventually occurred, tripping several breakers that powered critical greenhouse exhaust fans.

As part of the repair, we installed a new pull box rather than adding another conduit bend. Electrical code limits the total bends between pull points, helping prevent excessive tension and damage when conductors are installed or replaced.

We also left a little extra wire inside the box - a small detail that can make future repairs significantly easier.

A great example of why proper installation matters not only today, but years down the road. ✔️⚡
