From local beginnings to national recognition: Z’gamok Enterprises Inc. is honoured to receive the Indigenous Community Business Award at the Indigenous Prosperity Gala hosted by the NACCA in Gatineau, Quebec.

What started as a small community-driven venture has grown into a nationally recognized Indigenous enterprise focused on creating opportunities, supporting community wellbeing, and building prosperity for future generations. This recognition reflects the strength, resilience, and vision of the Sagamok community, as well as the dedication of our employees, leadership, partners, clients and supporters who continue to help move Z’gamok forward.

We are deeply honoured to receive the Indigenous Community Business Award from NACCA. Chi-miigwetch to NACCA for this incredible recognition, and to the Sagamok Anishnawbek community members, Z’gamok staff and management, privately owned businesses from Sagamok, Z’gamok clients, Sagamok Chief and Council and our Board of Directors for their continued leadership and support. This honour belongs to everyone who has been part of our journey!

Some of our team at Z’gamok were proud to join the Sagamok community spring clean-up and help clear garbage along several roads throughout the community.

It was a great day spent giving back and working together. We know Earth Day was a few weeks ago, but with all the snow sticking around, spring clean-up had to wait!
 
We were also happy to sponsor the BBQ following the clean-up for all community members who came out to participate. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Happy spring cleaning!

Today, on May 5th, we observe Red Dress Day, a National Day of Awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women, and girls. Red dresses that are displayed, are a powerful symbol of those who are missing and whose lives were taken too soon.

Together, everyone can make difference by remembering their names and supporting red dress day. We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect and learn. Together, we must ensure their voices are never forgotten.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women of Z’gamok who make a difference every day. We are proud that women make up over 18% of our workforce, including 15 First Nations women, and we remain committed to continuing to lead above the industry average.
