Canada’s NorthGrid Solar is one of Ontario’s most experienced renewable energy partner, with over 30 years in solar project development, design, installation, maintenance and financing. We engineer, design, manufacture, assemble, install, commission, monitor and maintain solar PV systems for the Ontario Power Authority's Feed-In Tariff program. Due to the overwhelming need for a non-ballasted mounting system, NorthGrid Solar has developed the proprietary Elevated Truss System (ETS) which lefts the solar panels off the roof surface and distributes the weight of the solar system (which is typically much lighter than tradition mounting systems) across the building's columns. This allows a building owner to install a NorthGrid Solar system on a building that would not be able to hold a traditional solar racking system. This is not only better for the roof it also results in great energy production. It't truly a brilliant solution!

We visited one of our larger elevated solar installations today to assist our customer prepare for the addition of new rooftop HVAC units. We temporarily removed a handful of solar modules which will be returned to service once the new units are craned in. This video shows what we found approximately 8 hours after a 6" snowfall hit Toronto.
