Over the weekend, we responded to an emergency in a stacked townhouse after an entrance door was left open. Extremely cold temperatures (-14°C) entered the common areas, causing fire suppression lines to freeze and burst. Water flowed for over an hour, impacting several adjacent units. Our team was on site to assist with the response and mitigation.

With the extreme weather we’re battling right now, measures like these are pivotal in protecting properties and building systems. Clear signage, regular resident communication, and, where possible, automatic door-closing systems can all play an important role in helping prevent similar incidents.

On Tuesday, a local hotel experienced a major loss after a supply line burst on the 12th floor — flooding 25+ rooms and multiple common areas — the Renolux team responded immediately.

Within hours, crews were on site locating trapped water, opening wall cavities and ceilings to allow proper drainage, and beginning intense water extraction and drying efforts. Over the course of just four days, more than 82 team members, 65 dehumidifiers, and 100+ fans were mobilized to stabilize and dry the affected areas.

We’re far from complete on this project, but the strong partnership between property management and the Renolux team will ensure the recovery process continues to move forward efficiently and with the highest level of care.
