Cleaning up old glue and levelling the subfloor — getting ready for new Biyork Hydrogen 7 in Sunpath. The prep work nobody sees is what makes a floor last.

Sometimes the best fix is a clean slate! 🛠️

Ran into some tricky leveling issues over a garage in a townhouse complex this week. The original OSB subfloor was covered in old vinyl glue residue, which is an absolute nightmare for bonding new flooring or self-leveler.

Instead of fighting a losing battle trying to grind it all off, we pivoted. Went old school and used layers of thin plywood to bypass the chemical issues and guarantee a bulletproof, structurally sound substrate. 💪

Huge shoutout to the team at Plywoods Ltd. for helping us get the exact right product for the job. Excellent service as always! 🙌

Now we have a perfect base for the new floors.

🪵 Maple Ridge, this one's for you.

I built Plank & Grain specifically for busy Maple Ridge families — the kind who need a new floor done right, without the chaos.

I work while you're at work. I clean up every day before I leave. And when I'm done, your home looks better than when I arrived.

No big showroom. No retail markup. Just 20 years of flooring expertise, right here in your neighbourhood — at a price that actually makes sense.

Free in-home estimates for Maple Ridge homeowners. 📩 plankandgrain.ca

Full transformation mode! 🛠️ From old, worn-out laminate to a flawless Hydrogen 8 vinyl finish.

We love working with Hydrogen 8 because the pressed bevel details and flush, exact-colour-matched nosings make the final result look incredibly premium.

To keep things cost-effective and clean for the client, we carefully saved and reinstalled their original baseboards, finishing them up with fresh caulk for that perfect, crisp edge. 💎
