Due to an undetected leak within the Village of Mankota causing a pressure loss at the water plant.
Staff is going to be checking water meters today and tomorrow.
The village will also have to impose watering restrictions effective immediately.
No watering of lawns, gardens or flower beds untill this issue has been resolved.

TRIWAYS delivered our garbage and recycling carts. Please move them to your yard, at your convenience but make sure they are out on the scheduled day by 7:00am where they were dropped off. You can start using them as of now and as soon as we get the schedule we will post it as well as mail it to make sure everyone gets it.

Please be patient as this will be a bit of a learning curve for all of us. The Village will no longer be picking garbage, however there will be a fall clean up day for yard debris.

The landfill is still open Tuesday and Fridays 9:00am - noon. There is a garbage bin at the landfill for extra garbage, the recycling bin and of course the burn pile. At this time we do not have a date of closure, until then we will continue to use the landfill. Saying that, if you need to do a good house clean, yard, or shop clean now is the time! Once the landfill closes, the garbage bin costs will be higher.

The Village is once again experiencing a leak somewhere in town that has either not come to the surface or is in somebody’s house.
Please check your homes and meters to ensure you do not have a leak somewhere.
If the little triangle on your water meter is spinning and you are not actually using water. You most likely have a leak. If you can hear water hissing at your meter or sewer line. There is most likely a leak somewhere. Please check on your family and friends who may be unable to check for themselves or have gone on holiday.

Sewer line has been repaired without turning off the water to the east side of town.

In order to repair a sewer main. The village will need to turn of water to the east side of town. Everything on first street east as well as everything east of that point from second avenue to the highway will be out of water until this line has been repaired.

Due to an issue at the water treatment plant. The ph of our water has climbed above normal levels. As a result our water has become very soft and leaves an oily feeling when mixed with soap.
This is not harmful in any way. We will continue to flush hydrants regularly until this issue corrects itself. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
