Every log we use is carefully hand peeled and hand chiselled by our craftsmen, removing the bark and outer layers to expose the incredible natural character, colour, grain, knots, and unique contours of each log.
Removing the bark isn’t just about aesthetics. It also helps eliminate hiding places for insects and pests, allows the wood to dry and breathe properly, and gives our craftsmen the opportunity to closely inspect and prepare every log for long-term protection and finishing.
Western Red Cedar is naturally well suited to log home construction. It’s lightweight, dimensionally stable, naturally resistant to decay, and has exceptional insulating qualities.
Rather than making every log look the same, we work with the natural shape and character of the tree. Every piece is different—and that’s what makes every home we build truly one of a kind.
