Our Borden Project Showcase;

Our client called with concerns of a improperly installed venerer where the stones were loose and falling onto the floor..... We removed the veneer to discover there was no substrate and the cement board was flexing causing the issue.

With new plywood and cement board installed we were able to provide the foundation required to lay this beautiful blend of limestone veneer supplied by https://colonialbrickandstone.com/

We pointed with our lime mortar and tooled the joints with a classic fishhead brush. We're also in the process of cutting some new sandstone caps for the columns outside; photos to follow.

A substantial rebuild on the 1000 Islands Parkway. The parging was removed since it was locking moisture in the multi-wythe stone walls. This caused severe damage to the mortar joints and many stones were replaced.

Consolidated with the old-school lime mortars.

Wight Plot Restoration Project Showcase;

Tasked with the rebuild and restoration of the Wight Plot of the Miners and Sappers Cemetery in Newboro.

The project required careful removal and cataloguing of copings and the structural restoration of the outer wythe of sandstone with substantial consolidation areas.

We matched the original stone from a nearby quarry then shaped the stone and rebuilt the walls restoring structural integrity.

A highlight of the project was the 'discovery' of a bone which turned out to be a bovine's femur.... Wild stuff.

It was an absolute pleasure working with the Township of Rideau Lakes and its counterparts.

A big thank you to all my mason friends and labourers who we're able to give a hand wrapping up this public work. These walls will stand for many many years.
