Draftsperson Technician

Nova Wood Products is an industry-leading architectural woodwork company with expertise in supplying the construction industry in Atlantic Canada & New England. We provide our clients with custom fabricated wood products that meet or exceed architectural specifications working closely with the design authority.

We are offering a unique experience as a Draftsperson Technician in the construction industry. You will provide excellent Drafting and Engineering within our team, and be a part of an existing group of highly skilled professionals where commitment to excellence is a core value. This position reports to our Engineering Manager.

This opportunity is located in Lunenburg, NS, a beautiful UNESCO heritage town whose 250 years of history allows an exceptional work/life balance.

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities:
• Review and check design documentation
• Generate and maintain accurate shop drawings and related submittals
• Create and maintain product technical data, including LEED documentation
• Work effectively and communicate well with team members
• Work closely with Project Managers & Engineering Team
• Provide solutions to reduce waste and improve efficiencies

Personal Attributes:
• Logical & analytical approach to problem solving
• Effective communications skills
• Strong technical aptitude
• Organized, dependable, self-motivated, takes ownership and initiative
• Able to work in teams & independently


Education & Experience:
• Educational training and/or experience in AutoCAD
• Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset, but not required
• Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset:
o Bluebeam
o Microsoft Office
o Woodworking
o Cabinetmaking
