Innovative design, and high-quality, friendly service. This instilled both a great work ethic and a passion for building.

Joel and Andrew started Top Notch Fence & Deck in 2010 with an arsenal of experience in the industry under their belts. They worked their summers throughout highschool and university for a couple of different fence and deck builders. With their skills being honed after years in the industry, they decided to step out on their own and master their craft bringing their joy for building to their new clients. Their hard work, cleanliness, and attention to detail has been industry-leading and has helped them grow to be one of the premier deck builders in the GTA. In 2021, Top Notch Fence & Deck was rebranded as Top Notch Decks and a new location added to service the Barrie and surrounding areas. These two intend to continue to grow in their craft and take the details of fine interior finish carpentry to the outdoors where they enjoy most of their time. They hope your backyard will be their next great transformation.

We completed this rooftop deck featuring PVC decking, matching privacy screens, and frameless glass railings.
The privacy screens add separation from the neighbouring properties while the frameless glass keeps the deck feeling open and preserves the incredible view of the Toronto skyline.
A clean, modern rooftop space designed to make the most of the city views while still giving the homeowners privacy.

Another project complete in Palgrave!
This one was completed in two phases to bring the entire outdoor space together.
Phase 1: We built the upper deck using TimberTech composite decking and finished it with modern aluminum railings.

Phase 2: Once the Pioneer on-grade pool was completed, we returned to finish the surrounding pool deck — creating a clean, low-maintenance space that connects everything together perfectly.

The end result is a great outdoor entertaining area with plenty of room around the pool and a finished look that will last for years to come.

This custom outdoor gathering space was built to make the most of this beautiful pondside property.
We handcrafted a rough pine pergola to provide shade without sacrificing the open view, paired it with a custom-built rough pine picnic table and bench, and finished the space with a pressure-treated deck that creates the perfect place to relax, entertain, or enjoy a meal by the water.
Every beam, joint, and detail was built with durability and craftsmanship in mind, creating a space that will be enjoyed for years to come
