It is with tremendous appreciation, admiration, and gratitude that we announce the retirement of Dale Kurt after an incredible 43-year career in the pest management industry.

Dale’s journey began in the early 1980s when he attended Sir Sandford Fleming College with aspirations of becoming a Conservation Officer. Along the way, he discovered a different path, changing majors and graduating from the Environmental Pest Management program. In 1983, he joined Westdale Pest Control as a technician, beginning what would become a distinguished and impactful career.

From those early days in the field, Dale’s work ethic, leadership abilities, and commitment to excellence quickly became evident. Over the years, he held numerous positions throughout the organization, continually taking on new challenges and responsibilities. By the time Westdale Pest Control was acquired by Orkin Canada in 2000, Dale had already established himself as a respected Operations Manager and trusted leader.

Throughout his career with Orkin Canada, Dale continued to make a lasting impact. He successfully served as Branch Manager, Assistant Region Manager, and most recently as Region Manager for the GTA Region. Under his leadership, the GTA operation experienced tremendous growth, doubling in size in a remarkably short period of time. While the numbers tell part of the story, those who worked alongside Dale know that his true success was measured by the people he developed, supported, and inspired.

Dale was the definition of a servant leader. He invested countless hours into helping teammates succeed, mentoring future leaders, solving challenges, and always making himself available to support others. His steady guidance, practical wisdom, and unwavering commitment to both customers and colleagues earned him the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

Outside of work, Dale could often be found doing what he loves most: fishing on the water, hunting in the bush, or cheering on his beloved Montreal Canadiens. His passion for the outdoors has always been a reflection of who he is—someone who finds joy, peace, and perspective in nature.

As Dale enters this exciting next chapter, we could not be happier for him. Retirement will provide the opportunity to spend more time at his newly constructed cabin in Northern Ontario, surrounded by the forests, lakes, and wildlife that have always been his happy place. It is a well-earned reward after decades of dedication, sacrifice, and leadership.

Dale, thank you for your extraordinary contributions, your mentorship, your friendship, and your unwavering commitment to making our organization better. The legacy you leave behind will continue to influence our company and our people for many years to come.

Congratulations on your retirement, Dale. You have certainly earned it.

After 21 years of dedicated service, it is with both gratitude and heartfelt appreciation that we announce Scott’s retirement from Orkin Canada.

Scott joined our team after a distinguished career in the Canadian Military and continued his service through the Reserves while building his career with Orkin Canada. He brought with him a deep sense of duty, humility, integrity, and commitment to serving others.

These qualities were evident in everything he did and became the foundation of the positive impact he had on teammates, customers, and friends throughout the organization. Scott's dedication, reliability, and genuine care for people earned him the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Over the years, Scott became much more than a valued teammate, he became a trusted friend, a dependable colleague, and someone people knew they could always count on.

Scott’s kindness, humility, and willingness to always put others first made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. Whether he was sharing his knowledge, lending a hand, or welcoming teammates with his East Coast hospitality (and incredible seafood), Scott had a way of making people feel valued and at home.

His legacy goes far beyond the work he did; it lives on in the relationships he built and the lives he touched.

Scott, thank you for your years of service, your friendship, and the example you’ve set for all of us. Wishing you and your family nothing but happiness, good health, and many great adventures in retirement. You’ve truly earned it.

Today, we celebrate an incredible career and a truly remarkable individual — Don Lanteigne

Don’s journey began in 1975 with what was meant to be just a summer job after high school at a small family business, Richardson’s Extermination. What started as a short-term opportunity quickly turned into a lifelong passion and a career spanning over 50 years. Through acquisitions that brought him to PCO and later Orkin Canada, Don remained a constant: growing, evolving, and leaving a lasting impact every step of the way.

Over the decades, Don built an extraordinary career. From his early days as a technician in Toronto, specializing in termite work — to leadership roles as Service Manager, Branch Manager, and Regional Manager, and most recently as Learning and Development Manager, Don’s journey is a testament to dedication, adaptability, and continuous growth.

What stands out most about Don’s career is not just the roles he held, but the passion he brought to each one. As he reflects, not many people can say they’ve spent this long in a career and still genuinely enjoy going to work each day. Don is one of those rare individuals. He embraced every opportunity, built relationships across Canada and the U.S., and found fulfillment in helping others succeed.

In his most recent role, Don found one of his greatest callings - developing people. Today, he takes immense pride in guiding new employees, building relationships, and helping shape the next generation of professionals.

Don has witnessed firsthand the evolution of our industry. From a time with minimal training and safety standards to the highly skilled, safety-focused environment we know today. He not only adapted to these changes but played a key role in advancing them, particularly through his work in training and development.

Throughout his career, Don has also been a reflection of what makes our organization strong - a commitment to people. He has always been approachable, supportive, and willing to help others. He credits much of his success to the mentors and leaders who guided him along the way, and in turn, he has become that mentor for so many others.

Beyond the professional accomplishments, Don’s career made a profound personal impact. It provided him with the opportunity to build a life, raise his family, and create lasting friendships across the country and beyond. As Don puts it, anywhere he travels, there’s always a familiar face. A reflection of the relationships he’s built over a lifetime.

As he looks ahead, Don leaves us with simple but powerful advice: embrace the opportunities in front of you, invest in relationships, and take pride in the important work we do every day to make a difference in people’s lives.

Don’s legacy is exactly what he hoped it would be: someone who was good at what he did, always approachable, and always there for others.

While it’s never easy to say goodbye to someone who has given so much, we celebrate Don’s remarkable career with gratitude and admiration. His impact will be felt for years to come through the countless people he has mentored, supported, and inspired.

Congratulations, Don, on an amazing career! And thank you for everything you’ve given to all of us.
