This is one of the most common questions we get from homeowners after a foundation crack repair.

The safest approach is to build a new finished wall in front of the repair area, leaving the waterproofing membrane completely untouched.

The goal is simple:
👉 Protect the repair
👉 Allow the system to work properly
👉 Keep your basement dry long-term

⚠️ Most important things to remember:

❌ Do NOT screw anything through the membrane
❌ Do NOT glue foam board directly over the membrane unless approved by your waterproofing contractor
❌ Do NOT pack insulation tightly against the repaired area
