This year’s Deutscher Stahlbautag in Bielefeld was particularly meaningful for METIB.
Not only because of the valuable conversations, new contacts and the opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives of the German steel construction industry.
Since 1 September 2026, METIB has also officially been a member of Deutscher Stahlbau-Verband DSTV e.V.
For us, this is another step in a direction we have been developing for several years.
We deliver projects for the German market and work with steel construction companies, manufacturers and project partners. Our daily work includes structural engineering, BIM, steel modelling and detailing, as well as documentation developed with fabrication and er****on requirements in mind.
However, we want to do more than simply deliver projects for the German market. We also want to become increasingly involved in the German steel construction community itself, contribute to the exchange of knowledge and take part in discussions about the future of the industry.
Deutscher Stahlbautag was a great opportunity to do exactly that.
Digitalisation, BIM, automation, AI, increasing requirements in design and fabrication, and the availability of specialised engineering expertise are all topics that are shaping the future of steel construction.
We want to be part of that conversation.
Thank you for all the meetings and interesting discussions in Bielefeld.
A special thank you also goes to Christian Hammes, who joined us throughout the event and supports METIB in further developing our presence on the German market. Thank you for the time together, the conversations and the valuable new connections.
We are glad to have been part of this year’s Deutscher Stahlbautag and, now as a member of DSTV, to become even more involved in the German steel construction community.

Good engineering is not only about calculations, models or drawings.

It is also about reducing uncertainty before fabrication and er****on begin.

Clear documentation helps avoid unnecessary questions, delays and corrections later in the process.

In steel structures, many problems do not start on site.

They start earlier:
when geometry is not coordinated,
when connections are not fully thought through,
when fabrication logic is missing,
when drawings leave too much room for interpretation.

That is why we treat modelling, detailing and documentation as one connected process.

Because every clear decision made at the design stage can save time, cost and stress later.

A Polish engineering company operating on the European market does not have to compete only on price.

And it should not.

In technical projects, clients today are not looking only for available teams or lower rates. They are looking for partners who understand responsibility for the entire design process.

Partners who can work according to international standards, communicate risks clearly and understand the relationship between design, fabrication, er****on and the realities of investment projects.

Price always matters.

But in engineering, the most expensive decisions are very often not visible at the beginning.

Their consequences appear only later:

when the documentation requires constant revisions,

when the model does not reflect reality,

when a detail does not work in fabrication,

when er****on requires improvisation,

when communication between disciplines is missing.

That is why we believe Polish engineering has much more to offer than cost competitiveness.

It is about competence, experience, flexibility, good work organisation and a strong technical background.

At METIB, we have been working on projects for clients from various European markets for years. And one thing is clear to us: the quality of engineering does not end with a model or documentation.

It begins where the project also has to work in fabrication, transport, er****on and on site.

So the question is not: “Can a Polish company work for demanding clients in Europe?”

The question is rather:

how well can we show the value that Polish engineering is already delivering today?

The scale behind the model.

This project was not just about creating a 3D model.

It included two independent flue gas duct lines connecting two gas turbines to one chimney, with large and changing cross-sections, 10 mm steel plates, HEB and IPE stiffening members, internal insulation, stainless-steel lining and external acoustic enclosure.

Every element had to make sense not only in the model, but also in documentation, fabrication, transport and er****on.

This is one of the reasons why we entered the project in the Tekla BIM Awards.

Complex industrial engineering deserves visibility too.

Behind every model, there is a team.

Behind this project, there were hours of coordination, checking, modelling, detailing and engineering decisions.

Every connection, every support, every duct section and every drawing had to make sense not only in the model, but also in fabrication, transport and er****on.

This is why we are proud that our project is part of the Tekla BIM Awards.

For us, this is not only about showing a 3D model.
It is about showing the work behind it: the engineering logic, the attention to detail and the people who made it possible.
