Top 20 at yesterday for this Kid!. After the disappointment of hitting the deck hard 2 weeks ago in Baltimore at the Maryland Classic, came to Gatineau and earned herself a great result. While she was a bit disappointed to be on the wrong side of the decisive break, she worked hard in the chase group & managed to finish 19th at "the most prestigious event in North America for women’s road racing", with riders from around the world attending.

Maryland Cycling Classic UCI 1.1

Definitely not the race recap I was hoping to post, but cycling is a cruel sport sometimes.

Last weekend made a quick trip down to Baltimore for the Bike Race with her team. This is "America’s Top One-Day Pro Cycling Race". The field was loaded with National Champions, Olympians, and World Tour riders. This event was a class act through & through, thanks to everyone for such a great event!

Unfortunately Dylan's race came to an early end after a crash (swipe for the video). After some quick repairs she was back on the bike, trying to get back to the group. Unfortunately, her brakes were damaged in the crash and when she tried slowing, she was left with a hand full of brake fluid & no brakes. That was it, any chances of the good result I know she wanted, were gone, left with the feeling of "what could have been" & a lot broken kit that need repair or replacement before heading to Tour de Gatineau in a week and the Netherlands after that for Gravel Worlds.

On a positive note, she was in the lead group when the crash happened and now she knows that she can definitely ride with those top women. Her day will come.

had a great weekend at the Provincial Championships

Unfortunately we weren't able to be there but I was getting updates and a few photos from friends (thank you for that!)

First up for D was Saturday's Crit race. The race stayed together and it ended in a bunch sprint with Dylan taking the win in both U23 and Elite Women's categories.

Next was the Road Race on Sunday. As I understand it, Dylan and another girl got away early and managed to stay away until the end with D taking the win in the 2 person sprint, again winning both the U23 & Elite Women's race.

Congrats Kid, we're proud of you & can't wait to get more details when you get back home

After Saturday's in Windsor, it was off to Auburn Hills Michigan for the 60th Annual Debaets-Devos Pro-Am Bike Race.

Dylan went with an early attack on lap 1 and the 2 of them worked together to ride away from the rest of the racers finishing in an exciting sprint finish.

Last weekend was in Quebec to take on the GP Charlevoix Stage Race with the girls.

It was cold and wet for the entire weekend with rain playing a role in every race. Dylan killed it and had a great weekend of racing! Great work D!
