☀️ Get Your Air Conditioning System Ready for Summer! ❄️

Before turning on your A/C for the season, take a few minutes to prepare your outdoor condenser unit:
✅ Remove the cover and make sure the power is OFF
✅ Hose down the unit to remove dirt and debris
✅ Use a soft brush or water to clean carefully

⚠️ Be gentle — the condenser fins bend easily and can affect performance if damaged.

After cleaning, do a quick visual inspection of the outdoor unit. If you notice any damage, don’t turn the system on — give us a call first.

It’s also a great time to replace your furnace filter for better airflow and efficiency.

Ways to prepare your furnace for extreme cold. If you have a gas furnace (with electricity dependency)
Even though it’s gas, it still needs electricity to run.
Do this now:
🔥Set thermostat to a steady 18–20°C (don’t let it dip overnight)
🔥Replace the furnace filter if it’s even a little dirty
🔥Make sure all vents and cold-air returns are clear
🔥Keep basement heat ON (very important for pipes)
⚠️ If power goes out: the furnace will stop.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. Stay warm.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never came home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities forever impacted. 🧡
In London, we acknowledge that we are on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Lenaapeewak, and Attawandaron peoples. Their deep connection to this land continues today, and we are called to recognize, respect, and learn from this living history.
May today be more than reflection — may it be a commitment to truth, understanding, and reconciliation.

Happy first week of fall, while the weather is still warm it is a perfect time to get your air conditioner ready for the winter. Here is a few tips to help you along the way.

🍁Turn the A/C unit’s power off. Normally located in your home. If you can’t find it, you can turn the breaker off for it.
🍁 Clean your unit. Remove all dust and debris. See previous post from the spring with the full details on how to do this.
🍁Change any filters.
🍁Check that the foam pipe cover and see if it is in good repair and doesn’t expose the copper tubing anywhere. They help protect your AC pipes from cold winter temperatures secure the foam in place where you see any such exposure using duct tape or zip ties.
🍁 Cover your unit. Whether it is a vinyl cover or a board on top. Protect it from snow sitting on it causing rust and mold.

If you are still not sure, give us a call and book a seasonal maintenance. We would be happy to come out.

Whether it is leaving for a long weekend or a few weeks away at a cottage.
We always get asked, what do we do with our air conditioner while we are away?

☀️If it is just a long weekend away we recommend, just leaving your air conditioner set to the same schedule.
It keeps it from working too hard to cool the house back down when you return.
☀️If your away for a week or more, we recommend turning your thermostat up 3-5 degrees Celsius than
your normal temperature. The goal of this is to keep the humidity out of your house.
☀️If your gone for a month or more, we recommend a full hvac maintenance inspection before you leave. Again
we do not recommend a full system shut down during this time.

☀️We also recommend getting a smart thermostat, so you can set your house to be cooled to your normal temperature before your return home.

Happy Vacation ☀️
