Don & Wendy Cameron started Peninsula Out of Doors in 1987 providing a lawn maintenance & landscaping service. In 1992 the Garden Centre was added & the business now has 12000 sq ft of greenhouses growing most of their own annuals & perennials. Our son Justin received his Landscaping & Horticulural Degree in 2002 & joined the company. Our business received "Business of the Year " in 2002 for a

outstanding example of a successful family business. Our goal was to provide the community with a service of quality & satisfaction for our customers & continue to do so for the years to come

We started 2025 with a very complex project and finished 2025 with another. This project was a challenge right from the start. Having to build a road up the side of the house to access the back, then adding natural stone steps on our way out. With the help of Hastings Tree Removal we were able to transform the back into a patio while diverting water from the cottage. We replaced the old retaining walls with 80 ton of armour stone and gave the front entrance a facelift.

The finished project!
The beautiful Peninsula threw everything it had at us on this project- from steep terrain to escarpment shelves, which made for incredibly tight spaces. The crew fought through it and came out with a gorgeous waterside transformation. We added over 100 ton of Bruce Peninsula natural stone to make this waterside property useable and functional with 2 separate patios, a shoreline retaining wall, beautiful natural stone steps to the water and a path to where the dock will be relocated. We skillfully incorporated the escarpment into the patios. We are ecstatic how this project turned out.
