Until I began to explore reiki (Japanese technique for working with the body's energy) I was without the understanding that everything in the universe is made up of energy. Over the past five years, I have come to experientially know that it exists everywhere, and even within the world of carpentry we are working with energy all the time. As we clear out space and make room for the new, we are removing old, stagnant energy. When we begin to rebuild, we are bringing fresh, new energy into the space.

Our recent attic restoration best exemplifies how old, stagnant energy can be cleared out, and how fresh, rejuvenating energy can be brought in. The transition of unused attic space, to bright, period-correct living space has transformed the top of the house, and the new energetic shift is palpable! The change will serve the 140 year-old house for decades to come!

More work on our hearth and woodstove installation...all pieces moved from the shop to the house, thinset in place and stovepipe in...now set for walls to be done...a combination of slate tile and 4' x 4' reclaimed slate blackboard...amazing energy as it all comes together! :)

A beautiful day of creation in the shop! Working with slate tile and old slate school blackboards, I designed and am now building the hearth for our woodstove addition. Wonderful to see and feel it coming together! Thanks and gratitude to all who have helped bring it together! :)
