Our crew lead flipped the main breaker — lights went out, so he assumed the power was off. But he forgot to pull the meter. The feeder was still live. Next thing we hear — a loud bang from the basement, and a transformer buzzing like crazy 100 yards away. I was just 50 feet away connecting the other end… it could’ve ended very badly. We were lucky. The transformer wasn’t. No clue how many electronics got fried in the customer's house. 🚨 Lesson learned: Don’t assume. Test. Verify. Be 100% sure. Your life — and others’ — depends on it.

Day 17 of electrical school and I think my instructor’s trolling me. He said this is a 'pro trick'—but I’m 90% sure it’s a fire hazard with extra steps. Can someone confirm before I rewire the matrix?
Taught by a master electrician who now teaches more conspiracy theories than circuits.

After all your lovely comments I decided to bum rush the build. I wasn't going to post it until I was done, unfortunately while designing the glass I hit a wall and it's going slower than expected. So here's a little update. I thought the power cord would look like a tail, but it just looks sloppy. I might move it to a foot or use an emt to bx connector and put it on the rear toe.

What would you have done differently? (I made up the whole panel except the grounds.
