🌱If you’ve visited my website, you may have read that I am a LEED Green Associate®.

🌱LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. I became a Green Associate because I see first-hand the direction that the design and construction industry is heading in terms of environmental impact, new and updated environmental legislation, and the growing demand for sustainable buildings.

🌱One element of green buildings is that they help maintain a healthy indoor space. Benchmarks such as thermal comfort, indoor air quality, and interior lighting support the well-being and health of building occupants.

🌱But you don’t have to construct a new building to benefit from the concepts presented in LEED. Read my new blog post to learn about the effects that volatile organic compounds have on your indoor air quality and how you can reduce you and your family’s exposure to VOCs.

☑️When I decided to dive into entrepreneurship, I knew there was so much to learn from others that travelled this road before me, and so I read as much as I can from those who have a proven strategy for success in business and marketing.

☑️I was first introduced to wisdom when I took a few of her courses last year. Her advice on careers, leadership, and networking is clear, concise, and well worth the 30 minutes or so it takes to complete a course.

📚When I heard that she had a new book coming out last year, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I received ‘The Long Game’ for my birthday and am on my third time reading it right now!

📖Chapter 5 – Think in Waves, is my favourite chapter in the book, particularly the section called “Heads up, heads down”. It explains how we need to progress our goals by either exploring new opportunities (heads up) or focusing and executing (heads down), but if you try to do both at the same time, there is a higher risk that you won’t be successful.

✔️My objective for launching is to add value to my community. I chose the
engineering field as my career to literally build communities and this little side-hustle is an
extension of the bigger picture 🌎.

So my goal with this page is to be a place that:

👩‍🎓Educates - whether it's about safe design and construction to Code, sustainable and green
design, or new technology that will benefit your project, I hope my posts teach you something
you may not have known or considered. Every piece of knowledge helps you make an
informed decision when preparing for a new renovation or construction project.

🤩Entertains - Let's be honest, engineering can sometimes be a little dry. I want to have a bit of
fun with my work and bring you along for the good times too!

💪Empowers - I want to show everyone that regardless of what career path they choose, their
talent, skills, and knowledge is an important contribution to their team's goals. When we pair
hard work with our experience & voice we evolve into great leaders. Women in S.T.E.M. is an
important topic to me and I strive to be a good example to girls and young women of how a
female can succeed in this field.
