A grilled cheese sandwich and a bouquet at shoppers changed the way I look at pricing.
Imposter syndrome runs deep within my bones, and I always caught myself thinking “maybe my flowers are too expensive”. Not taking into consideration that I grew these flowers from seed. I watered them, fertilized them and cared for them until I used my labour to harvest them and create bouquets. Time and labour aren’t free.
When i walked into a cafe and saw a grilled cheese sandwich for $18, I thought okay. I need to see the value in myself and the bouquets I create.
When I saw the mixed bouquet of a few stems of spray mums at shoppers I actually laughed. My flowers are beautiful and $25 is clearly a price that people are willing to pay.
