Coming to you live from our office on Vancouver Island! Blackrete Builders has our weekly update on site progress brought to you live from our team in the field!

This video showcases the current status of the Excavation for a new multi-family residential project in Langford, BC.

We can see the excavator cutting a test window for the shoring contractor to install shotcrete shoring.

Week 2 progress included bulking out material and installing several pipe piles. We've also set up the site facilities and are ready for another week of action!

In this video we see the Excavation progress onsite as material has been hauled away since the last update. The Piling contractor is drilling piles and maintaining schedule onsite.

We're excited to announce that Excavation and Pile installation is underway in Langford!

Blackrete Builders is working with a local developer to deliver a 6-storey wood frame multi-family residential project with 75 rental units and 2 levels of underground parking.

In this video, we show the progress from our first week onsite. The Excavation contractor is hauling out soil and the Piling contractor is installing pipe piles that will stabilize the Excavation as we dig!

Another big push from the crew this week — formwork stripped, walls up, and slab on grade poured. Always feels like a win when the excavator gets flown out and the next phase begins.

We hosted a successful at our UA Local 324 project site in recognition of BC Construction Month 2025. With support from BCCA, 32 staff were treated to a well-deserved lunch. The “Built Right” shirts were proudly worn on-site, and we made sure to capture a variety of individual and group photos during the event.
