A Japanese-inspired garden comes alive after dark. ✨

With the stone lantern glowing and carefully positioned landscape lighting highlighting the Japanese maples, boulders, plants, and granite steps, the garden takes on a peaceful and dramatic nighttime character.

Plants, natural boulders, granite steps, and the stone lantern were all supplied by Westland Design.

This project was designed and built by Westland Design—and will continue to be maintained by our team so it can mature beautifully for years to come.

A modern Japanese-inspired garden designed and built by Westland Design. 🌿

Natural boulders, sculptural Japanese maples and pine trees are carefully arranged alongside clean architectural paving and granite elements. Colourful seasonal planting softens the hardscape and brings movement, texture and life to the entrance.

Every stone, pathway and plant was thoughtfully placed to create balance between the modern home and the natural landscape—a peaceful garden that will become more beautiful with every passing season.

Designing and building the 10,000 sq. ft. landscape was incredibly rewarding. The outdoor space reflects the home’s Japanese-inspired interior design, creating a peaceful and seamless connection between the house and nature.

Japanese garden features surround the property, while the backyard includes inviting patios designed for relaxing and entertaining.

Five years ago, we had the privilege of designing and building this beautiful garden. Since then, our team at Westland Design has continued to care for and maintain it.

Today is a very special day for Kathy’s son, Zach, as he celebrates his wedding to Kennedy. We were honoured to help prepare the garden by designing the planters, growing the flowers, and arranging them to complement the surrounding landscape.

Everything came together beautifully for this unforgettable occasion.

Congratulations, Zach and Kennedy! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and wonderful memories. 💍🌸🌿

Creating a space where nature, craftsmanship, and timeless Japanese design come together.

This Japanese-inspired garden in Tsawwassen is taking shape as another custom design-build project by Westland Design. Featuring carefully placed natural boulders, sculptural Japanese Black Pines, a traditional Japanese water basin, and handcrafted granite stone paths and steps, every element has been selected to create a sense of balance, tranquility, and permanence.

The plants have been thoughtfully supplied by Westland Design, while the stunning natural boulders are provided by Bedrock Natural Stone, bringing authentic character and texture to the landscape.

We’re excited to share the finished transformation soon—stay tuned for the final reveal.
