Big milestone for the Moore & Sons team 👏

We’ve just completed a 40-foot-wide concrete base for a new water reservoir in Duncan, BC—our 60th industrial, commercial, or municipal reservoir base since 2016.

Projects like this play a critical role in supporting reliable water storage for the Cowichan Valley, helping ensure consistent supply, system resilience, and long-term community growth—especially during peak demand and dry seasons.

This was a highly technical build completed to strict engineered specifications:
• 2-foot-thick grade beam with 15M curved rebar
• 20m³ of 25 MPa concrete for the initial pour
• Protected overnight curing to maintain temperature
• 2-foot-thickened slab with extensive reinforcing steel
• Final pour of 60m³ of 30 MPa concrete

Another complex project delivered with precision—and made to look easy by our experienced crew.

27 years in the concrete business — and we’re just getting started.

From our very first pour to the hundreds of projects we’ve completed since, this journey has been built on hard work, early mornings, long days, and a commitment to doing the job right. We’re proud to have earned the trust of our community and grateful for every client who has chosen us over the years.

Double slab surprise 👀

Our crew recently replaced a 30+ year old concrete patio in South Surrey with a brand new 650 sq. ft. exposed aggregate slab — and what started as a routine project quickly turned into a surprise.

Once demolition began, we discovered not one… but two concrete slabs. The original 1973 slab had never been removed and was topped with another 4 inches of concrete — complete with 6” x 6” welded wire mesh. 💪

No shortcuts here. We carefully jackhammered and removed both layers, properly prepared the base, installed new drainage, reinstalled the block stairs with new caps, and poured a fresh exposed aggregate finish.

The result? A textured, slip-resistant surface that looks incredible and performs beautifully in wet conditions — perfect for high-traffic spaces and poolside areas.
