Today, we pause to reflect on National Truth and Reconciliation Day, and the ongoing journey toward healing and understanding.

As we acknowledge the painful legacy of colonization, we also honour the strength, resilience, and leadership of Indigenous Peoples across Canada. At Fort Modular, we're committed to listening, learning, and building lasting partnerships with Indigenous communities, reflected in our PAIR (Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations) certification.

This day is a reminder that reconciliation isn't a single moment, it's an ongoing action. A few ways to take part today:

🧑 Wear an orange shirt in solidarity
🧑 Take time to listen to a survivor's story
🧑 Learn about the 94 Calls to Action
🧑 Support an Indigenous-led organization or event near you

Recently, Fort Modular sponsored the Stalew Arts & Cultural Society Pow Wow at the Langley Events Centre. The three day event featured grand entries, drum competitions, pageants and more. The purpose of a pow-wow is to celebrate Indigenous culture, traditions, music, regalia and art. It is a time to celebrate and preserve the rich heritage and keep traditional ways alive.

Still thinking about this view.

Another look at these modular units in West Vancouver, proof that function doesn't have to come at the expense of design.

Sustainability isn't a marketing checkbox for us. It's a set of standards we build to when a project calls for it.

Our factories are CSA A277-certified. We work with LEED Gold-compliant materials. And when a project needs Step Code performance or energy-efficient systems, we build to that spec, because offsite construction gives us the quality control to actually hit those numbers, not just claim them.

Not every project needs the same standard. But every project gets built to the standard it was designed for.

Modular offices don't have to be standard or simplistic, they can be exactly what a space calls for.

High above West Vancouver, these units on Cypress Mountain prove what's possible when design and function come together. These purpose-built structures fit right into one of the Lower Mainland's best views, proving that a functional space doesn't have to compromise on setting or style.

It's a great example of how modular construction can show up anywhere, even somewhere this beautiful.

Housing doesn't move forward without the people doing the work every day.

On September 10, you'll find Fort Modular in Nanaimo for Vancouver Island R.E.N.T., a full day dedicated to learning, networking, and strengthening the non-profit housing sector across the Island.

Fort Modular is proud to exhibit at this year's event, so come find us and say hi!

Thank you to BC Non-Profit Housing Association for putting together another great event and bringing the sector together.

As summer winds down and students head back to class, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on another busy season of school and childcare projects across BC.

Since 2021, our team has delivered more than 40 education and childcare projects across the province, built off site while ground and site work happen in parallel, cutting typical timelines by up to 50 percent. That means schools and districts get their space faster, without compromising on safety, quality, or design.

Every project follows the same proven path, no matter the size or location:

βœ… Consultation and design
βœ… Off-site manufacturing in our facility
βœ… Site prep and servicing
βœ… Installation and handover

Wherever the need arises across the province, from a recently completed expansion in Fort St. John to communities across the Lower Mainland, we're proud to help deliver the classroom space growing communities need, on time and ready for students.

Let's talk about your next education or childcare space: https://fortmodular.com/contact/

We're about to drop the puck on another season of junior hockey πŸ’

Fort Modular is a proud sponsor of local BC hockey clubs, including the Vancouver Giants, Kamloops Blazers, Langley Rivermen, and Langley Trappers. Whether it's on the ice or on the job site, we're all about building strong teams, backing our community, and going the extra mile for the communities we call home 🍁

Good policy needs good input, and modular has a lot to offer that conversation.

Mark DePedrina, Bryan DePedrina, and Rick Welch sat down with Jake Sawatzky, MP for New Westminster-Burnaby-Maillardville, to talk about Build Canada Strong and where modular fits into the bigger picture for BC and for Canada. Defence, infrastructure, and housing all came up as connected pieces of the discussion.

Thanks to MP Sawatzky for making time for us. Exchanges like this one are exactly how good ideas turn into real progress.

When your design team and your build team work for two different companies, someone's job is to manage the gap between them. That gap is where budgets slip and timelines stretch.

At Fort Modular, our in-house design, manufacturing, and onsite construction teams sit under one roof. From first sketch to final occupancy, it's one team, one plan, and one point of contact β€” start to finish.

One hand to hold. One team accountable. No finger-pointing when something needs to move fast.

That's not a slogan for us β€” it's how we've built schools, camps, and communities across BC for over a decade.
