This three-storey home received two brand new custom decks - but first came the massive tear-down process. Removing the original structures safely and efficiently was a major part of the project before rebuilding durable, functional outdoor spaces designed to maximize the home’s views and usability.

🏡 More than a new deck - this in-progress project is transforming how this family will use their home and outdoor space.

We started by removing the existing deck, shown in the first picture, and we excavated beneath it to install new footings and posts, creating a solid foundation for what comes next. From there, we started building a new 18' × 18' deck, which will eventually receive a vinyl membrane once construction is complete.

The transformation doesn't stop there. We're converting an existing bedroom window into a new exterior door, creating a seamless connection between the home and the deck. Beneath the deck, we're also creating storage space with a heated cabinet for battery storage, making better use of the footprint while adding valuable, functional space for the homeowners.

It's the kind of renovation we love - combining structural improvements with thoughtful design to create spaces that are both beautiful and practical.

Custom cedar fence built along a challenging and highly unique site. Climbing a rock face at a 45-degree angle before continuing along an existing rock wall beside a power pole, this project required creative post placement and careful on-site problem solving from start to finish.

The design follows the natural terrain rather than fighting it, preserving the surrounding stone stairway, ferns, and layered garden beds. The result is a one-of-a-kind cedar fence that feels integrated into the landscape and highlights the character of the site.

This transformation is officially finished with a brand-new lower landing and sleek aluminum railings, completing a rebuild that's as functional as it is good-looking.

After uncovering extensive rot, this project evolved into a full stair rebuild to ensure a long-lasting result. Now it's complete and ready for the homeowners to add their final coat of paint.

Some homes don’t need their character changed - they need space added to match the life happening in them.

Our clients wanted to expand their outdoor living area and improve access to the lower level of their property while preserving the rustic, artistic charm that gives this home its personality.

In this first phase, we built a new structural system with footings, posts, beams, and framing to support a deck extension and staircases connecting the upper deck to the lower yard. Along the way, we identified and reinforced areas of the existing structure that needed additional support, ensuring the next phase could move forward without revisiting completed work.

One detail we're especially proud of is the custom scribe work where the new construction meets the existing rock. Each piece was carefully fitted to follow the natural contours of the stone, creating a seamless transition that respects the landscape. We also reinstalled the owner's original wrought iron railings, preserving another unique feature of the home's character.

The new deck extension and staircases create more opportunities to enjoy the outdoor space while setting the stage for the original deck to be refreshed next.

A careful balance of improvement and preservation - building forward without losing what made the space special to begin with.

This project focused on improving both accessibility and functionality while blending seamlessly with the existing home design.

We added a new mudroom entry leading to a compact elevator with access to the main floor, followed by the construction of a landing deck and staircase connecting down to the yard. Finished with matching vinyl siding, the addition integrates naturally with the rest of the home for a cohesive final result.

What started as a fascia replacement project quickly turned into a full stair and landing rebuild once we uncovered extensive rot.

We saved what we could, but the stairs and upper platform needed to be completely rebuilt to ensure a safe, long-lasting structure. We also rebuilt the privacy screen and repaired part of the lower landing beneath the stairs.

For durability and strength, we used fir stringers, pressure-treated treads, and cedar risers. The homeowners will be adding their own finishing touch with paint once everything is complete.

Another project built to last and ready for the next phase!
