MEET THE OWNER | MATT DUNFORD

Behind every Spotlight project is a commitment to craftsmanship, communication, and creating homes built around the people who live in them.

For Matt Dunford, owner of Spotlight Home & Lifestyle, that passion started long before his career in construction. Inspired by watching his grandfather create beautiful, handcrafted pieces in his workshop, Matt developed an early appreciation for the patience, precision, and pride that go into quality work.

With over 20 years of experience in renovations and new home construction, Matt brings a hands-on understanding of the building process and a genuine respect for the trust clients place in his team.

Since becoming owner in January 2024, his vision has been to build on what makes Spotlight special: thoughtful planning, honest communication, exceptional craftsmanship, and an experience that feels just as important as the finished result.

Because at Spotlight, it’s about more than building or renovating a house. It’s about creating a place where life’s best moments happen.

Design. Renovate. Build.

Design. Renovate. Build.

At Spotlight Home & Lifestyle, every project begins with understanding how you want to live and ends with a space that reflects it.

DESIGN
Thoughtful spaces shaped around your lifestyle, your home and your vision.

RENOVATE
Expertly executed transformations that bring new life, function and refinement to your existing space.

BUILD
From concept to completion, quality craftsmanship brings the vision together for a custom home.

Whether it’s a cottage retreat, a complete home transformation or a space designed entirely from the ground up, Spotlight brings design, renovation and construction together.

The renovation is the result. The experience is the product.

The Difference Is in the Details.

When you’re investing in your home, the details should be deliberate.

From precise tile placement and spacing to clean, carefully finished edges, every element of this fireplace surround was executed with purpose.

At Spotlight, we believe the details are what elevate a space from polished to exceptional. Every line, transition and finish is carefully considered because your home deserves craftsmanship that stands up to the design.

True luxury isn’t just how a space looks.
It’s how every detail is finished.

A seamless cottage transformation. This is the result of thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship and a vision brought to life.

What was once an awkward and dated main floor has been completely reimagined into a space that feels open, refined and effortlessly functional.

Our team transformed the layout with an expanded kitchen, walk-in pantry and new mudroom, while raising the sunken living area and creating a striking fireplace focal wall. New stairs, windows, doors, railings and outdoor updates brought the entire space together. Every detail was considered to improve the flow, maximize the views and create a home that works beautifully for family life.

✨ From closed-in to breathtaking. ✨

This cottage sunroom had incredible potential, but the views were hidden behind small, obstructed windows that kept the outdoors at a distance.

Our goal was simple: bring the lake inside.

We transformed the space with oversized windows that flood the room with natural light while allowing fresh summer breezes to flow through. The real showstopper? A 10-foot fully opening patio door that creates a seamless connection between the sunroom and the outdoors. To make the space comfortable day and night, we also installed an electric drop-down bug screen, so you can enjoy the fresh air without the mosquitoes.

Now, instead of looking at the view, you feel like you’re part of it.

It’s transformations like this that remind us why thoughtful design matters. Every decision was made to create a space where family and friends can gather, relax, and enjoy cottage life to the fullest.

Thinking about updating your cottage? Let’s create a space you’ll never want to leave.

Not every renovation experience is the same.
The difference is usually found long before construction begins.
The planning.
The communication.
The attention to detail.
The systems behind the scenes.
At Spotlight Home & Lifestyle, we believe the best projects are built through a thoughtful process designed around the client from day one.
Because a successful renovation isn’t just about how it looks when it’s finished — it’s about how well it was managed along the way.
Process Driven. Client Focused.
