It only took a couple minutes to prune this young maple and begin to establish a proper dominant leader branch structure.
Young trees also heal and compartmentalize pruning cuts better than older trees.
Pruning trees when they're young is the best way to avoid the need for large, potentially problematic pruning cuts on mature trees down the road.
