Here's a chimney that was leaking from several places, and overall deteriorating.
In this case I suggested encapsulating the whole chimney in metal to eliminate the leaks. I attempted to do a standing seem but did not have enough material. I was still able to "lock" the joint in a similar manner. The corners are "clicked" together, and secured with fasteners.
Now it should last another 100 years!
