JGC Fluor (JFJV) - prime contractor of the LNG Canada plant construction project

In October 2018, LNG Canada made a final investment decision to build its liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada. The project represents the largest energy investment in Canadian history. The LNG export facility will liquefy surplus Canadian natural gas so it can be safely ex

ported to help meet global energy demands. A joint venture between JGC Corporation and Fluor Corporation – JGC Fluor BC LNG JV – was selected by LNG Canada Development Inc. to be the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for this proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal. The joint venture was established to leverage JGC’s extensive experience of LNG projects worldwide, as well as Fluor’s expertise accumulated from its outstanding track record of completing mega-sized projects in North America. The proposed LNG export facility will liquefy surplus Canadian natural gas so that it can be safely exported to help meet global energy demands. The facility will initially consist of two LNG processing units, referred to as trains, each with the capacity to produce at least 6.5 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG per train.
