It’s not always about what you can see from the ground. 🏠🔍

During this inspection, we found that some of the home’s original eavestroughs were starting to loosen as the older-style spikes were losing their grip over time.

While we’re working on the roof, we’re taking the opportunity to identify these issues and bring the eavestrough system up to the same standard as the newer sections of the home.

A quality roofing project looks at the whole system—not just the shingles.

Big projects call for big teamwork. 🏗️

We’re proud to be working alongside VanDel Construction on one of the largest commercial roofing projects The Roofman has taken on to date—right here in beautiful Owen Sound.

It’s been an exciting project to be part of, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of the work, progress, and behind-the-scenes along the way.

Stay tuned. 🚧🏠

If your upstairs feels too hot in summer or drafty in winter, the issue may be in your attic.

Small openings around pipes, wiring, and lights allow air to move freely into that space, undermining your home’s climate control.

Air sealing these gaps helps your insulation work more effectively by keeping treated air where it belongs.

3 feet is the standard… but sometimes, it’s not enough. 🏠❄️

Ice and water shield is one of the most important layers protecting your home from ice dams and winter moisture. But every roof is different.

On homes with a larger soffit overhang, that standard 3 feet may not extend far enough past the warm wall to provide the protection needed. That’s why proper inspection and installation matter.

It’s not about following a number—it’s about understanding the roof and installing the right protection for the home.

The details matter. That’s how we protect your investment.

🚨 5 Signs Your Roof May Need Attention

Your roof can show signs of wear long before a major problem develops. Missing or lifted shingles, granule loss, water stains, sagging areas, or excessive debris in your gutters can all be reasons to take a closer look.

Catching these issues early can help prevent bigger, more expensive problems down the road.

Roof Inspection Series | Part 3 🔍🏠

Not every roofing issue is obvious from the ground.

In this inspection, we're taking a closer look at older fiberglass shingles. Over time, the tar seal that bonds each shingle can begin to fail. When that happens, strong winds can lift the shingles, causing them to flap, crack, or even tear off completely.

These are the kinds of issues a professional inspection can catch before they turn into expensive repairs.

Follow along as we continue to pull back the curtain on what we look for during every roof inspection.
