𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐮𝐩!

A closet this tall should earn its keep.

Here, the storage runs nearly to the 9-foot ceiling, making use of height that could easily have gone to waste. The pull-down closet rod is the clever part. It brings the upper hanging space down when you need it, then tucks it back up and out of the way.

That means more usable storage without making it harder to reach.

It’s a small detail, but one that can make a closet work a whole lot better day to day.

𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫?

A farmhouse sink, also known as an apron-front sink, offers a deep, generous basin with room for everything from baking sheets to oversized pots. And because the front of the sink replaces that section of countertop, you can stand a little closer while you work.

Visually, it earns its place too. Here, the crisp white apron front becomes part of the cabinetry design, framed by soft blue-green lowers, white uppers & backsplash, and warm wood flooring.

It’s one detail within a larger renovation, but a good reminder that practical choices can bring personality to a kitchen too.

In this bedroom, sliding barn doors create a clean transition into a walk-through closet and ensuite. Because they move along the wall instead of swinging into the room, they keep the floor area clear, preserve more options for furniture placement, and allow for a generous opening between the spaces.

The contrasting black hardware also brings definition and architectural interest to what might otherwise have been an unused stretch of wall.

𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞?

Bathrooms may be practical, but they do not have to be predictable.

In this whole-home renovation, the design builds personality through repetition. The round mirror echoes the round faucet backplate, towel holder, and the shape of the multi-colour penny tile, while integrated lighting brings the texture and colour of the backsplash to life.

It is a good reminder that even a smaller space can make a strong impression when every detail works together.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.

Through the design and discovery process, this existing building was reimagined as a poolside bar, giving it a clearer purpose and a more natural connection to the pool and surrounding outdoor living areas.

New decking, stonework, finishes, and an open serving area helped turn a separate structure into a place for refreshments, conversation, and time spent together outside.

Good renovation planning is not always about adding something new. Sometimes it begins by seeing more potential in what is already there.

𝐀 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝

This kitchen had space, but the layout was working against the way the family wanted to live.

An angled wall limited the connection to the living area. The dining room openings were tight. The island was not in the right place for daily prep, cleanup, and gathering.

The solution was not simply to open everything up.

The renovation removed the wall between the kitchen and living room, widened the dining room openings, and reorganized the space around two purposeful islands.

One island supports cooking and cleanup.
The other adds a second workstation without blocking traffic.

With two sinks, improved clearances, better storage, and a coffee and beverage zone outside the main prep path, the kitchen now supports cooking, hosting, conversation, and everyday movement through the home.

𝑨 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒅𝒐𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆. Sometimes it is about making the space work more thoughtfully.

For this Waterloo Region backyard, Pioneer removed an older built-in BBQ and pergola structure, resurfaced the existing deck structure, adjusted the landings, and simplified the deck from three levels to two. The result improved furniture placement, traffic flow, privacy, and everyday use around the pool and landscaped yard.

A relocated pergola now defines the dining area, while privacy walls, decorative fencing, and landscape lighting help the whole backyard feel complete.

Outdoor living works best when it feels like a natural extension of home.

For this project, the goal was to create outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful, but practical, comfortable, and built for everyday use. From the covered front porch to the backyard living area, outdoor kitchen, and integrated screen system, each element was designed to support time outside in a more thoughtful way.

Sometimes craftsmanship shows up in the big transformation.

Other times, it shows up in a small decision most people may never think about.

This cold-air return was in a highly visible space, so the baseboard trim was miter-cut around it.

It is not something every room needs. But in the right place, details like this help the finished space feel intentional, considered, and complete.
