HEAT DESIGN EQUIPMENT INC HDE specializes in advanced infrared heaters for asphalt paving and repair. http://www.asphaltheater.com.

Our Joint Heater ensures seamless pavement bonding, while Heater Patchers and Asphalt Recyclers provide efficient, eco-friendly asphalt restoration. HEAT DESIGN EQUIPMENT INC obtained a patent in 1993 for an apparatus that provides radiant heat energy over a large surface area. The heaters use propane gas as an energy source, and do not need auxiliary batteries and blowers for operation. The heater was originally designed to service the hot-in-place recycling industry. In 1995, the province of Quebec began specifying a hot joint for road construction and the asphalt industry had a difficult time finding equipment that would heat the joint at acceptable paving speeds. Part of the specification was that there was not to be an open flame. This hot in place technology applied using a 12 to 16 foot train of patented HDE infrared heaters ensures a seamless compacted bond between the old pavement and the rejuvenated area, extending the life of the pavement to match the mat properties. HDE supplied its first heater in 1995 and since then, has been a major supplier of infrared heating equipment to meet this specification, when paving in echelon was not practical. Other government bodies are considering hot joint specifications because of severe longitudinal joint problems and HDE will continue to supply its high intensity heaters to meet this need. In 2002 HDE began marketing its technology worldwide, expanding its unique technology into the asphalt patching industry after 6 years of developing various patching equipment, through a related company involved in infrared asphalt repair. Our experience has resulted in equipment that is profit oriented in asphalt patching, and is also multifunctional. In 2003 HDE obtained various international patents on a new replaceable heater cartridge that minimized downtime of repair of infrared equipment and ensured easy replacement anywhere in the world.

Fabrication Friday πŸ‘

One more Joint Heater loaded. One more customer getting ready to put it to work. One more thumbs-up from Steve.

Weeks of fabrication, assembly, testing, and preparation all lead up to moments like this. It's always great seeing equipment leave the yard and head out to where it belongs... on the job.

Have a great weekend everyone!

βš™οΈ More Moving Parts. More Maintenance. More Things That Can Fail.

Some infrared heating systems rely on blower motors and forced-air designs to operate their heating chambers. That means additional components such as motors, wiring, switches, and airflow systems that must perform every time you fire up the machine.

More components can mean:

πŸ”§ More maintenance
πŸ”§ More wear items
πŸ”§ More troubleshooting
πŸ”§ More downtime when something fails

At Heat Design Equipment, we believe reliability starts with simplicity.

Our patented ceramic infrared technology delivers 100% radiant heat without relying on blower-assisted heat distribution. Fewer moving parts means less maintenance and more time focused on repairs, not repairs to your equipment.

βœ… Deep, even radiant heating
βœ… Edge-to-edge heat coverage
βœ… Reduced maintenance requirements
βœ… Proven reliability in demanding field conditions
βœ… Efficient fuel use through radiant heat transfer

The goal isn't simply generating more heat.

The goal is delivering the right heat to the asphalt, consistently, day after day.

Because on a jobsite, reliability isn't a feature.

It's productivity.

πŸ”₯ Happy National Propane Day (U.S.)

Today we're recognizing National Propane Day in the United States! National Propane Day is celebrated annually on October 7, with the date chosen as a nod to propane's chemical designation, 1075.

While Canada celebrates National Propane Day on a different date, we're always happy to recognize the fuel that helps power industries, communities, and infrastructure across North America.

At Heat Design, propane plays a vital role in delivering the efficient, 100% radiant heat our customers rely on for asphalt heating and repair applications.

Today is also a great opportunity to recognize the people behind the industry, from producers and transport operators to technicians, service providers, and customers who put propane to work every day.

Here's to a fuel that's reliable, portable, and hard-working.

Happy National Propane Day! πŸ”₯

πŸŽ‚ Infrared asphalt repair is a lot like baking a cake.

Too little heat and things don't come together properly. Too much heat and you've gone too far.

The sweet spot is applying enough heat to make the asphalt workable so the repair can be blended into the surrounding pavement.

What we're really looking for is a strong, impermeable seam that helps keep water out and extends the life of the repair.

Because in the long run, performance matters!

Whether it's building a career, earning trust, improving a skill, or reaching a personal goal, meaningful progress rarely happens overnight.

It's easy to get discouraged when results aren't immediate, but growth is often happening long before you can see it.

Keep showing up. Keep putting in the effort. Keep believing in where you're headed.

The little things you do consistently today can create opportunities you never imagined tomorrow.

Have a great week everyone.

Fabrication Friday 🐾

Not every member of the team spends Friday fabricating equipment.

Some prefer to spend it relaxing on a dog bed under a desk, quietly taking it all in.

Bella may not weld, assemble, or fabricate, but she's still an important part of the team and an expert at keeping the office atmosphere positive.

Happy Fabrication Friday and have a great weekend!
