السلام عليكم,
هنا نصيحه عامه وأتمنى أن يستفاد منها الجميع, طبعا إلى عايش في كندا لمده طويله بعرف بهاي الأمور.
بالنسبه للاعمال والمهن إلى ممكن تسبب مشاكل للسلامه كمهنه الكهربجي في كندا. لا يجوز لاي شخص أن يقوم بمزاوله المهنه بدون رخصه. وذلك لتجنب المشاكل المستقبليه كالحرائق وغيرها.
أما كصاحب منزل يمكنك أن تقوم ببعض التصليحات أو الإضافات إذا كانت لديك خبره في هذا المجال " في منزلك فقط", ولكن في كل الحالات يجب أن تتصل بالجهات المسوله "ESA" لكي يقومو بفحص العمل والتأكد بأنه يتوافق مع معايير السلامه والقوانين الخاصه بالكود الكندي. وبعد الفحص يقومو بتزويدك بشهاده تثبت أن العمل خالي من الاخطاء.
على سبيل المثال لاقدر الله في حاله الحريق التأمين يطلب هذه الوثائق, ولكن إن كان هناك عمل غير موثق ممكن أن تخسر التأمين.
الأمر الآخر, بعض الناس بتفكر أنو البلديه هيه نفس دائره ESA.
البلديه تختص بتصريحات البناء وليس الكهرباء.

This is an advice that I hope it would help some people to understad how Electrical work should be conducted in Canada. Those who had been in Canada for a while might already know this.
Any work that can compromise safety, must be completely done by a licensed professionals to ensure your safety. Electrical work can become fire hazard if it is not done properly.
As a home owner you can do your own electrical work ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. either way you must get an electrical permit to do electrical work. Electrical permits can be obtained from ESA "Electrical safety authority". Typically an ESA inspector will come and inspect the work, and make sure that the installation meets the standards of the Canadian Electrical Code, and provides you with feedback if there were any defects present, or you will get a pass.
These documents must be kept safe for future reference. For example, God forbid if a fire happens, Insurance will ask for these permits, if you never obtained these permits you might risk losing your insurance coverage.
The other misconception, people think that city permits are the same as ESA, but THEY ARE NOT. ESA is a private organization that will provide inspection and permits for electrical work ONLY. While on the other hand, the City can provide building permits, etc.
Please do not take shortcuts to do any electrical work as you might be risking your safety and your family's.
