Hey, community family. ❤️
It’s nice to be back to work.
Life has thrown many unexpected barriers our way over the past little while, but we’ve continued to push forward. Resilience is a big part of who we are, both personally and as a business.
While we’ve been focused on our family emergency, we’ve become aware that a few different stories have been making their way around town about Strachan Builders.
We aren’t interested in arguing with rumours or defending ourselves against every story that gets told. Words are words, and stories can change as they travel. What matters to us is what we actually do.
So, just to clarify a few things:
Yes, we were away from the Woods project for a period of time. We were waiting on the delivery of a piece of equipment that unfortunately never arrived. Shortly after that, our family was faced with a serious medical emergency when Megan’s mom suffered two brain aneurysms, one of which ruptured and required emergency surgery.
Our family needed us, and we stepped away to be there.
We did not simply abandon the Woods job.
We DID NOT do any of the structural framing at Woods or Queen street
We are not being charged.
We are not being sued.
The rumours circulating around town do not reflect the reality of what happened. That is beyond our control.
We got into this business because we were tired of seeing poor workmanship and wanted to build something different.
We want to provide the kind of service, communication, and workmanship that we would want to receive if we were the ones hiring a contractor.
We have a dream. We’re building that dream one project at a time, and being self-employed gives us the opportunity to create a more stable future for our family while also contributing something positive to our community.
So, the moral of the story is simple:
Strachan Builders is still here.
We are still working.
We are still building.
And
We are still working toward the future we envisioned when we started this business.
We may have been pushed back a few weeks by circumstances completely outside of our control, but setbacks aren't going to stop us from moving forward.
We can't control what people say about us.
We can control what we do next.
And from where we stand, we believe our actions will always speak louder than rumours.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us, check in on us, recommend us, and believe in what we're building.
We’re grateful to be back at it, and we’re looking forward to getting caught back up and continuing to serve our community.
