At initial viewing of this project I talked with the client and addressed what she was told by other Contractors.
I stated the porch deck and foundation is sound , the above grade structure requires some step by step attention.
I stated that the step footings are sound , but believe there is a block( CMU) issue that freeze/thaw cycles have put the steps in distress over the 75 years since original build.

We removed the double width brick wall, laid a course of 8 block( CMU) on existing foundation. Laid 4” CMU as a structural backer wall then installed the face brick veneer.

We removed and replaced one section at a time to eliminate the additional cost of removing the sound porch deck, and to ensure the existing structural integrity remains in tact throughout the rebuild.
