The Kitchen Witch

The Kitchen Witch We offer old-fashioned home cooking. We use only the highest quality local ingredients and bake fres We have owned and operated The Kitchen Witch since 2006.

The Kitchen Witch is located in an historic two-room schoolhouse built in 1832. The school building has been lovingly restored to authentic 19th Century decor. It features the original hardwood floors, trim and wainscotting throughout as well as gorgeous double-hung paned windows which admit lots of natural light and a breathtaking view. Beautifully decorated, it features antique wooden tables and

pressback chairs, lovely wallcoverings and window treatments and vintage prints. Established in 1980, The Kitchen Witch Tea Room developed a tremendously loyal clientele of repeat customers, comprising both summer visitors and local residents. It has offered a tempting menu of sandwiches served on home-baked breads, freshly-ground coffee and an incredible variety of loose and bagged teas. Early in 2007 we became aware of the local demand for gluten-free products, and our menu was gradually modified to accommodate this need. We have established a completely separate and fully-equipped kitchen for preparation of gluten free items; including separate utensils and appliances. Our menu is now approximately 80% Celiac friendly.

The Kitchen Witch will never be the same. There are no words to truly express the void that has been left. We are just thankful that mom and dad are together once again.

The Kitchen Witch has always been family focused. Our own family has often worked at the business. We have endeavoured to create a family atmosphere with our staff. For many of our staff over the years this was their first job opportunity and we have been blessed to watch these shy nervous youth grow into confident and well adjusted young adults.
Our customers also, many of whom have returned year after year from near and far, have become an extended family. We have watched as infants and young children grow into teenagers and successful young adults.
It is, therefore, with some measure of sadness that this year we must focus on our immediate family and not operate our kitchen or dining room as we focus on our individual rare forms of the curse that is cancer.
We have now scheduled some readings and workshops starting in July.
