We're hiring a Wall Panel Designer!

What we want from you:
• Experience in design software or a diploma / certificate in Architectural, Civil, or Construction Technology or related field
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and drawings is required
• Familiarity with the National Building Code and Engineered Wood Products
• Strong general computer skills required and proficient in Microsoft programs
• Experience working on a construction job site and / or knowledge of the construction process of a home / building is considered an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design prefab wall panels and spec engineered wood products using specialized software for residential, commercial, and agriculture projects based on customer plans and needs
• Prepare the various documents to be given to the client (estimates, technical drawings, layouts)

We offer a competitive and negotiable salary ($40,000 - $65,000 annually) with benefits after a successful probation. Permanent, full-time position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Assemble roof trusses, floor joist or wall panels including setting up production table
• Lift, gather and move lumber, connector plates, and other materials
• Take measurements, cut, and connect wooden components to design specifications

What we want from you:
• Ability to do physical work steadily in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Experience using tape measure, hammer, and power tools is required
• Experience in similar role an asset but not a requirement

We offer a competitive and negotiable salary ($18.00 - $20.00 hour) with benefits after a successful probation. The position is permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday.

Now Hiring: Truss Assembler!

Island Structural Systems Inc. is looking for a dependable, hard-working Truss Assembler to join our growing team. We manufacture roof trusses and floor systems for residential, commercial, and agricultural construction projects across PEI.

What You’ll Do:
• Assemble roof trusses and floor joists
• Measure, cut, and connect lumber to specifications
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Move materials and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Work as part of a production team to meet deadlines

What We’re Looking For:
• Comfortable with physical work in varying temperatures
• Experience using a tape measure, hammer, and power tools
• Team-oriented with strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Safety-focused mindset

Previous experience is an asset but not required. We’re willing to train the right person.

What We Offer:
• $18–$20 per hour (based on experience)

Things are officially moving at ISSI!

The new wall line is powered up and we’re putting it through its paces. Running test panels. Checking alignments. Fine-tuning speeds. Making sure everything talks to everything else the way it should.

There’s a lot that happens before the first full production run and this is where the magic gets dialed in.

Big progress. Bigger things ahead!

Island Structural Systems will be closed on Islander Day, Monday February 16 as we take time to celebrate PEI and enjoy the holiday.

We’ll reopen with regular hours on Tuesday.
