Arborist Education: The V-Cut (Coos Bay Cut)
Ever wonder why a stump looks like a heart or a perfect "V" after a tree comes down? What you're looking at is a highly tactical technique called a V-cut (or Coos Bay cut).
When we are removing a tree in tight quarters—like right next to a brick building—precision isn't just a goal, it's a non-negotiable.
How it works:
* Directional Control: The deep "V" acts as a steering wheel, forcing the tree to fall exactly where we want it.
* Anti-Kickback: The interlocking shape prevents the butt of the tree from kicking backward or snapping off the hinges unpredictably.
* Safety First: It gives our climbers and ground crew maximum control over the timber from the second it starts to lean until it hits the ground.
Tight spaces and hazardous removals are our specialty at UTS!

Storm Bay Road 🌲 — another tree job for the UTS crew. This giant White Pine was already leaning hard before the storm pushed it right to the edge of the roofline. With zero room for error, the United Tree Service crew went to work fast.
Turn the sound up and watch the team absolutely smash this delimbing operation. From surgical canopy cuts in the bucket truck to a non-stop hustle on the ground, we stripped it right down to a bare stem.
Shoutout to the hardest working crew in the game for stripping the tree and clearing the zone in record time. Stage 2 stem takedown awaits!

It looks like something out of a movie, but a tree swallowing a foreign object—like this heavy metal pipe—is a ticking time bomb for property owners. As the tree grows around foreign objects, it traps moisture and bacteria inside. This creates invisible internal rot right at the main stress points of the trunk. When heavy winds or storms hit, these are the exact points where massive limbs or entire trunks snap. Don’t risk putting your roof, power lines, and family at risk.

Ever wonder how tree care pros move massive limbs over delicate yards without leaving a scratch? 🌲Meet the speedline (also known as a slideline or zip-line)!This advanced rigging technique is one of our favorite ways to keep your property completely safe during a job. Here is how it works:📌 High-Flying Setup: We anchor a specialized rope high up in the tree canopy and stretch it down to a secure ground anchor near our cleanup area.📌 The Zip-Line Effect: Once a large bough or limb is safely cut, it slides smoothly down the line, sailing right over your roofs, fences, decks, and landscaping.📌 Safe & Efficient: It completely avoids the ground drop zone, keeping our team safe and moving heavy debris straight to our processing area in record time.Whether you have tight spaces or a manicured lawn you want protected, our precision rigging has you covered. 🙌
