It’s with heavy hearts that we share some incredibly difficult news affecting one of our Solid Construction families.

Many of you know Tom — whether you’ve worked alongside him, met him on site, or crossed paths through projects over the years. Tom has been a valued part of our team for a long time, and right now his family is facing an unimaginable loss. Following complications during childbirth, his daughter and her family have experienced the heartbreaking loss of their baby.

During times like this, community matters most. We are asking our friends, clients, subcontractors, and extended network to help support Tom and his family however you can — whether that’s through a donation, sharing the link, or simply keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to Minister Mike Harris for the opportunity to attend yesterday’s roundtable at Smith Camps in Kenora.

It was a great opportunity to connect and share ideas on the priorities that matter most to our communities. Kenora—Rainy River’s natural resources are a cornerstone of our local economy, and we’re excited to keep building on yesterday’s discussions to create new opportunities for growth and prosperity in our region.

How to enter:

Winner will be picked at random on August 8 and contacted by phone. We’ll also post the winning picture on our page.

The world has a little less sunshine in it with the loss of one of our own last week. On April 10, 2024 Bryan Skeid died tragically at the age of 24.
Bryan was the beating heart of Solid Construction, bringing a smile to the face of everyone he encountered. Customers, sub-contractors, suppliers and everyone he worked with always said the same thing-"you just can't help but smile when Bryan is around".
Bryan was a valued member of Solid Construction and joined us as a co-op student when he was still in high school and became full time when he graduated. His work ethic, skill and ability to bring positivity to everyone around him made him an exceptional member of his crew.
Bryan will be missed every day by all of the members of Solid Construction.
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Bryan's family, friends and the community of Wauzhushk Onigum Nation.
Solid Construction will close all job sites and our general offices Thursday April 18 and Friday April 19 so that our members can attend funeral services to say farewell to our friend Bryan.
