These are 30-year-old Geraniums!

*Member submission* Geraniums that had their tops cut down to 1 inch high and all old roots removed were restarted in pots in a cool lighted area. Here they are in beginning of July. These Geraniums are about 30 years old.

The Summerland Ornamental Gardens mark the 110th anniversary of their creation this year! To celebrate we're having a Farm Picnic. The first farm picnic was held in June 1924 and more than 1200 people attended. Some notable features in the early days were guest speakers, ciders made by the food processing section, and of course the ornamental gardens. It was the social event of the season in early Summerland! Relive those days on Sunday, July 26 as we combine with the Summerland Museum to bring back the farm picnic. Everyone who is everyone will be there.
