About us

Emry Formworks is a locally owned Kelowna based concrete Formworks contractor. Emry primarily serves the Kelowna region, as well as a branch serving the Calgary market. Our focus is building multi-level concrete structures that shape and enrich our communities.
At Emry Formworks we are looking to build successful projects with our clients, though team work, experience and our talented craftsmen. As a growing company we are currently looking to fill roles within our team for Carpenters and Apprentices.

• 1-4 years construction experience (preferably in formwork)
• Be able to take direction and work left alone

• Be able to lift 50 - 75 lbs
Experience
• Experience with a variety of forming systems including Peri, Aluma, Doka, Camlock, Titan and Gang forms
• Experience with erecting and dismantling formwork for suspended slabs, columns, beams, cores, footings, walls, raft slabs and stairs
• Working at heights and ability to properly use Fall protection equipment
• Handle and install carpentry materials
• Use of power tools and pneumatic tools
• Working and signalling rough terrain forklifts
• Working and signalling tower cranes
• Working and signalling mobile cranes
• reading and interpreting blue prints, sketches and directions
• Erecting and dismantling scaffold systems

Work Conditions

This position is physically demanding and involves exposure to all elements of outdoor work. Hours of work for this position are based on a minimum of 44 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be available to sometimes work overtime and alternating Saturdays (halfday) as required. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to working safe on our jobsites.

Duties and responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of equipment (Telehandler, Skid steer, Scissor lifts) – Training available
• Unload and load inbound and outbound materials
• Plan and organize loads coming to and from various construction sites
• Occasional use of carpentry tools and equipment
• Effectively communicate with team Lead Hands and Team leads and project management
• Maintenance: Applicant will need to make sure that equipment is kept in good working condition, and communicate repairs and service requirements
• Record keeping: It is important to log incoming and outgoing trips helps to keep track of the successful delivery of product or personnel
• Packing the vehicle:
A successful job applicant will need to be able to pack products or equipment properly within the vehicle
