🍂 Is Your Pool Ready for Winter in Kelowna? With cooler nights arriving and swimming season winding down, late September is the time to prepare your pool for winter.

Professional pool closing involves more than installing a cover. Proper winterization helps protect your pool from frozen plumbing, damaged equipment, algae growth and difficult spring cleanup.

A professional closing may include:
💧 Testing and balancing the pool water
🧪 Adding appropriate winterizing chemicals
⚙️ Draining the pump, filter and heater
❄️ Blowing out and plugging plumbing lines
🪜 Removing ladders and accessories
🍃 Securing the winter pool cover
🔍 Inspecting the equipment, liner and plumbing

Closing too early can encourage algae growth, but waiting too long may leave your equipment vulnerable to freezing temperatures. Let the experienced team at Trevi Pools & Spas Kelowna help you close your pool correctly and protect your backyard investment through the Okanagan winter.

Appointments can fill quickly at the end of the season. Schedule your professional pool closing today:

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗮? Absolutely. Your pool may be getting less use, but it still needs regular attention throughout September.

Falling leaves, windblown debris and cooler evenings can affect water circulation and chemistry. Chlorine demand, pH and alkalinity may also change as temperatures fluctuate. Without consistent cleaning and testing, a clear pool can quickly become cloudy, unbalanced or difficult to prepare for winter.

Professional weekly or bi-weekly pool maintenance can help:
💧 Keep the water clean and properly balanced
🍃 Remove leaves and windblown debris
🧹 Brush, skim and vacuum pool surfaces
⚙️ Check the pump, filter and circulation
🧪 Identify chemistry problems before closing
❄️ Prepare your pool for a smoother winterization

Keep enjoying your pool while Kelowna’s weather allows and make sure it is ready when closing time arrives.

If you're planning to invest in a pool or spa, it's worth choosing one that's built for where you live, not just one that looks great.

Here in Kelowna and the Okanagan, our backyards experience scorching summer heat, seasonal temperature swings, and winter freeze-thaw cycles. Add in sloped lots and unique property layouts, and every project deserves a solution that's designed for local conditions.

At Trevi Pools & Spas Kelowna, we help homeowners choose pools, spas, equipment, and water care solutions that are built to perform in our climate, not just for one season, but for years to come. From challenging terrain to everyday maintenance, we're here to help make your backyard project a success.

Wondering, "𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗮?" 💧 Don't let guessing games ruin your Okanagan summer!

While DIY test strips are okay for a quick glance, they simply aren't engineered to handle our unique regional challenges. From the hard valley fill water and heavy hillside dust blowing off the Upper Mission to seasonal wildfire smoke particles, your pool's chemistry is constantly under pressure. When your pH and total alkalinity get destabilized in our 30°C+ July heat waves, algae and bacteria can take over fast.

At Trevi Pools & Spas Kelowna, we take the guesswork out of your water care. Bring a water sample to our local showroom and let our experts run it through our showroom-grade digital water scanner absolutely FREE. We’ll analyze your exact water chemistry and build a custom water care profile tailored to your specific pool setup.

Whether you need a quick chemical recalibration, premium water care products, or just some friendly advice, we have everything you need in one place.
